Last week I told you that my friend recently had surgery.  Her surgery was on her knee.  Basically she is now in a brace that holds her leg in a straight position and she has to use crutches to move around.  It is difficult for her to move even just around her studio apartment.  She knew the surgery was coming, and, as the planner that she is, she had everything worked out.  She basically had to make her entire apartment handicap-friendly, including buying a device which she could wash her hair in her kitchen sink because she would not be able to bend her leg to get into her bathtub to take a shower.
