There have been some daytime break-ins in my neighborhood with the homeowner in the house. I already have an alarm system and use it, but sometimes during the day it is not practical for me to use it. My little dog is pretty good with alerting me as to who is in my driveway or on the hill behind my house, but I feel vulnerable and wanted a little more control in deterring intruders. I bought two security bars, one for the door in the garage leading to the side yard and one for the back door leading to the back yard. The bars were very easy to set up and put in place. However, even though it can be installed on any floor, the concrete in the garage and the tile in the family room were too slippery. I placed a little piece of a gripping material under the stopper and the door held tightly. The alarms are a joke. One doesn't stop sounding and the other doesn't sound at all. I don't really need the alarm; I just want to keep people out. But, it would be nice to know if there is a prowler on my property. For [$] its okay, but you would get the same protection from a chair under the knob.
