We have very large dogs and they have torn our screen door on several occasions. I found this item about 3 years ago and have used it as a screen and dog door combination. Works great in letting the animals out into the backyard or back into the house and quickly sealing itself to act as a typical screen. Highly recommend it for this use. Lasted about 3 years with very heavy use and saved me the constant cost of replacing the screen on a deck/patio door.
