Comments about HAMBURGER PRESS:
I press about 3 lbs at a time so it will take a little time, but by using a measuring cup to get the correct amount, all patties come out perfect. I also use the parchment paper they work without sticking to the press.

Comments about HAMBURGER PRESS:
An absolutely solid (in a medieval sort of way) hamburger press with settings for thickness. Since, it closes at an angle like a clam, there is more compression near the pivot. To make a burger with an even thickness, you need to plop the meat down by the hinge and coax it toward the other end. If you have coarsely ground meat, you can surely make some absolutely beautiful thick burgers without messing up the grain. The burgers will retain all of the air pockets that make them tender and juicy. It does take about a minute per burger, so it is best for family dinner or small gatherings. It is not what you want for pressing quarter-inch thick burgers for a large company picnic. The cast aluminum does help disperse the cold from the meat, but the surface allows the meat to stick to it anyway. Thin, highly smooshed burgers will just tear apart unless you really slow down and use a thin spatula. This is for gourmet, not for mass production. Well worth the money. Kick back and do with burgers what you did with your first breadmaker!
