A very big improvement over earlier forms of do-it-your-self plating. A good value for the money, especially at today's raw gold prices. Has very clear directions, and works best when they are followed exactly.
For large pieces, such as crosses or pendants over about an inch and a half long, it does require transfer to a larger container; and the basket doesn't work well at all. The metal contact piece is a bit small too, and requires some careful handling to insure that all parts of the piece to be plated are in contact with it long enough to deposit even plating. Plating, or re-plating, chains can be difficult if they are large, and long.
But, overall, it is a very good product for non-professional use.

I have used this product several times. Only problem is that if you accidentally put anything in it which is the wrong metal (and this can be hard to determine sometimes) it wrecks the solution. However, I have had some lovely results turning my 10k gold and .925 silver into showpieces. Use a glass thermometer, not metal.

The compound turned very dark after use when I inadvertently left the stirrer in. After that, it didn't work as well on my next project.
