The vent is in between the sofa back and a large window so we just were not getting any a/c in the living area. The vent extender brings the air in front of the sofa. I had to use some wide tape to keep the two pieces together since it was extended almost to the ends but you can't see it anyway. Our living room stays a bunch cooler now and in the winter it will be warmer.

My heat vent was covered by my entertainment center and the living room stayed cold all the time. This extender has been a lifesaver! I did have to trim it down with scissors, but it was easy to do and easy to install and now my living room stays toasty warm!
