Pros
- Looks Good On The Patio
Cons
- Chihuahua Will Walk Under
Best Uses
- To Define An Area
Comments about EXPANDING FENCE:
I use two to help enclose my patio with an 8 1/2 ft. opening. The permanent fence has a cross board about 8 inches above the floor which allows my chihuahua easy access to the yard. I had hoped that the expanding fence would be lower, but it is not and she can go right under it! Therefore, I bought a very inexpensive plastic fence to put between them. Now she can play on the patio without being closed up in her wire crate. Now the expanding fence is useful and looks good too! It would help others with a similar need if you would show the measurement of the space between the floor and the bottom of the fence.
Pros
- Compact
- Easily Stowed
- Easy To Use

Cons
- Too High Off The Floor

Comments about EXPANDING FENCE:
We're using a bunch of them to contain a bunny in her own room so that she won't eat baseboards and whatnot. There is too much of a gap at the bottom of these gates. I'm surprised nobody with small dogs have complained about that. My bunny will be able to get through at the bottom. I like these though as they will serve as support for a wire fence that I'll staple onto them. Even if the space at the bottom were not there, I might have had to install the wire anyway just to keep the bunny from eating the wood fence. However, I would like to have been able to try it out without the wire. Some wood she does not like to chew on and this might have been one of them since it sort of stinks when it comes out of the box. Whatever they stain it with has an unpleasant odor that seems to dissipate.

Comments about EXPANDING FENCE:
It is best used to define spaces in a room. The fence is too light to use for children and, if it is jumped on by dogs, it will tip over. However, it is usualy a good "wall" that pets see as an obsticle and will not cross. We bought it to keep the cats out of the family room so it is perfect for that purpose. I DO NOT RECOMMEND the fence be used for children. The wood used in the construction reminds me of balsa wood.
